For Kalee and Ryan, CrossFit Fig has been more than just a gym. It has been a central part of their family's life for nearly a decade. What started as a single Groupon deal turned into a lifestyle that has shaped their health, their friendships, and even how they raise their kids.
How It Started
Kalee was the first to walk through the doors, almost ten years ago. She found CrossFit Fig through a Kettlebox Groupon and fell in love with the community from day one. Ryan joined about a year later, and together they made it a family affair.
Over the years, the community at CrossFit Fig became their second family. They have celebrated milestones, supported each other through tough times, and built friendships that extend far beyond the gym walls. Their kids are involved too, with their daughter participating in CrossFit Kids classes.
The Results Speak
Kalee's proudest achievement is her 205-pound deadlift PR. For Ryan, CrossFit Fig helped him lose 40 pounds and completely transform his approach to health and fitness. But the numbers only tell part of the story.
As a nurse, Kalee understands the importance of functional fitness better than most. She values being strong enough to handle the physical demands of her job, and she credits CrossFit with keeping her capable and resilient year after year.
Favorite Movements
When it comes to favorite movements, Kalee and Ryan could not be more different. Kalee loves burpees, a movement most people dread. Ryan, on the other hand, is all about squat snatches. Together, they push each other to keep improving and keep showing up.
Their story is a reminder that CrossFit is not just about individual achievement. It is about building a life around health, community, and the people who matter most.
