Lifting More Than Weight

Felix FigueroaSeptember 11, 2024

Six years ago, Rachel and her husband were moving back to Kansas City. They were searching for a new CrossFit gym when fate intervened. They rented a townhouse directly across the street from CrossFit Fig. It was meant to be.

Building Confidence

From the moment she walked in, Rachel felt at home. But CrossFit Fig gave her more than just a place to work out. It gave her confidence she did not know she was missing. Over the years, she has built strength both physically and mentally, tackling challenges she once thought were impossible.

One of her proudest achievements was getting her bar muscle-ups back after having her second child. It was a long road that required patience, dedication, and a lot of trust in the process. But the community at CrossFit Fig held her accountable every step of the way.

Training Through Pregnancy

Rachel stayed active throughout her pregnancy, working closely with the coaches to modify workouts safely. The coaching staff helped her find the right balance between staying fit and protecting her health, proving that CrossFit can adapt to any stage of life.

Fun Facts

Rachel's favorite movement is the power clean. There is something about the explosiveness and technique that keeps her coming back for more. Before CrossFit, she was a competitive cheerleader for 13 years, so she is no stranger to discipline and hard work.

Her advice to anyone considering CrossFit? Do not be afraid to fail. Every failed rep is a lesson. Every hard day is progress. The only real failure is never trying in the first place.
